Bedroom Make-Over Progress: A Duvet

I've made it a goal during these next couple of months to work on decorating our bedroom to make it our own little escape. For an apartment, it's a larger room so I'm trying to make it super cozy. I've got a lot of plans for it, but a major piece (our bedding!) has come in, so I wanted to give you a peek at the decorating progress!

I haven't quite decided on the pillow situation yet -- I might try to find some huge euro pillows to go in the very back and add in a couple more colorful//shapely pillows. I got the duvet from UO and I just LOVE that it's reversible! I'm a big fan of changing things up, so this is perfect. :)

Next on the bedroom decor agenda:
* Paint wall behind bed a deep charcoal
* Replace black side tables with floating shelves
* Find curtains
* Put together artwork for above bed
* Find lamps

I'll keep you updated on the progress!

Inspiration for Your Nest: The Search for a Duvet

Jon and I never really settled into a decision on our bedding when we did the registry process before our wedding.  So, after the wedding, we used a collection of our old twin comforters (cozy, but a sore sight!)...we're thinking it's time to get grown up bedding and put some effort into making our room our own little cozy sanctuary...so here are our choices:

Cabana Stripe Duvet Cover - OU
Inka in Fig - Aura
Vintage Scarf Reversible - UO
Ankita in Indigo - Aura
Mimosa Reversible - Z Gallerie
Striped Duvet Cover - West Elm
Waterfall Ruffle - UO
Organic Seedling Duvet - West Elm
It will be up against a dark charcoal wall, and I'm planning to mix in lots of fun colorful pillows (not too matchy-matchy) with whichever one I pick. Have a vote? Any suggestions on other places that carry fabulous and fun duvets?! -- I'll be sure to share our final decision with some photo's.

SLEEPING BEAUTY & THE PAPER BIRCH BEDDING

This week has been a lazy week. Two days, I worked from home and was determined to stay in my PJ's the entire time. This was one of the first times I worked from home while my husband was at work, so our little place was quiet and still. I discovered a couple of things during my time on the couch in front of the computer.

1. There's nothing good on TV during the summer.
2. Oreo's are an acceptable lunch.
3. My creative fuel can indeed run out. I need to refuel.
4. My walls are naked.

With that to say, I have been on a home-sweet-home kick for a couple weeks now. Upon request, I am going to share with you some romantic, delicate, and graphical bedding to cozy up your bedroom!

5. Paper Birch Bedding
6. Clover Cover Duvet & Shams

Bedding can set the stage for a beautiful room. Don't worry so much about making things matchy-matchy. Try adding some throw pillows from Target or Ross! Get a completely different graphical sheet set for a surprise when you turn in for the night.
