I started Lexington Avenue about two years ago and it has definitely transformed in a major way since then. I used to make shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, and lotions, but through experimenting with different products and bases, I found that I really enjoy making candles. So, I started working on perfecting that and I'm adding additional items to my shop too.
I have a very strong bond with scents. I associate things with how they smell....whether it's my husband's cologne that he wore when we were dating or a scent that I wore in the summer growing up. As soon as I smell it, I automatically go to that place in my mind. For my shop, I'm usually more inclined to use sweeter scents because they're what I like, but actually my ''wispy willow'' scent is my best seller and it's quite warm.
I really enjoy ''turn this look into a room'' - I used to be a manager at Pottery Barn and I would teach decorating classes on Sundays, so I love anything that has to do with decor. I try to feature Etsy shops as much as I can. I love to support creativity and individuality.
Well, Craig and I never had a wedding so on our 5 year anniversary (which is this Septmember!! ekk!) we're having a big ceremony and I would looooove to wear a Sarah Seven dress! Also, I've been coveting that Flamenco shower curtain from Anthro (yeah, you know the one..) and a great set of vintage hobnail glasses.
I'm currently obsessed with Elsie, Sydney, and Kendi. Elsie gives me so much inspiration for my shop. I just love her passion and how she makes me feel like I really can do anything I set my mind to. Sydney makes me feel all lovey dovey about my sweet Hubby and totally makes me laugh my butt off, and Kendi has such great style! She did a fantastic job on her 30for30 posts (1 for each season!) I get so much inspiration out of all of them.
