Beauty Column - Two Toned Luxe

I've been feelin' the metallic look lately. I wouldn't say I'm the type that likes a lot of glam, but I do feel a little ritzy when I paint gold tones on my nails. :) This easy nail DIY is all about the luxe and the glam, and of course, there must be sparkles!

Step One: Paint your nails with two coats of gold. Let dry. I love using Orly's metallic colors, they are rich and filled with sparkle. For this first coat, I used Luxe.
Step Two: Use another metallic tone to paint a thick French tip on each of your nails. Let dry.
Step Three: Use a similar toned sparkle to add a little glitz to the thick French tip only.

Where to Buy: Orly - Luxe & Rage purchased at Ulta $3.50 // Urban Outfitters - Afterhours purchased at UO $5.00 // Ring - Purchased at Forever 21 $4.50.

Hope you enjoy some fancy nail painting soon!

Beauty Column - Dipped in Sparkles

I was so excited to use my favorite bottle of sparkles in this new (and easy!) nail DIY. I especially love this particular DIY because it's perfect to dress up your nails for an evening party or a fun outing. -- OR just to treat yourself to something special. ;)

Step One: Paint your nails with two coats of a solid matte color. I used Lapis of Luxury by Essie (one of my new favorite colors!) Let dry.
Step Two: On the tips, without trying to be perfect, paint two coats of your favorite bottle of sparkles.

* Essie - Lapis of Luxury purchased at ULTA $8.00 // Milani - Gems purchased at Target $4.50 // Arrow Ring - Purchased at UO $4.99.

I hope your September is off to a great start. :) -- Jon and I are excited about the long weekend. We celebrated this morning with cinnamon rolls! Yum!

Beauty Column - Confetti Ocean

I may or may not have gone on a little ULTA nail polish shopping spree last night with Jenny...I found too many favorite colors! Since I couldn't decide on one color to paint my nails, I just used all of them. :)

Here's an easy nail DIY to party up your nails:

Step One: Paint your nails with two coats of a navy blue color. I used Midnight Cami by Essie. Let dry.
Step Two: Pick a handful of favorite colors that compliment your base color.
Step Three: Before painting on confetti, brush most of the paint off the brush and use the tip to slowly confetti the corner of your nails. Use one color with 3-4 dots on each nail at a time. Feel free to layer the confetti a bit and be sure not to have an excess amount of polish on the brush or you'll end up with a huge glob dot! Let dry.

And that's all! Mix and match your favorite colors. For a fun-fetti inspired color palette, use white as your base coat and bright colors for the confetti (red, yellow, blue, pink etc.).

* Essie - Midnight Cami, Lapis of Luxury, Van D-GO & Borrowed & Blue purchased at ULTA $8.00 /// ORLY - Rage purchased at ULTA $3.50 /// Rings - Purchased at H&M.

Beauty Column - Lollipop Chevron

I try to paint my nails once a week. This habit lets me take a little time to cozy up to a favorite show and do something simple to take a break from everything. :) I've been playing around with some fun color combinations lately and wanted to share my latest (and easy!) DIY:

Step One: Paint your nails with two coats of Essie Lollipop or another favorite red of your choice. I love this color because it's not too dark and has a touch of candy coloring. Let Dry.

Step Two: Once your first coat is dry, take your glitzy gold polish, making sure there isn't too much polish on the brush, and carefully hand-paint chevrons in the middle of your nails. Once dry, you might want to put another coat on the chevrons to make them really stand out.

That's all! Two easy steps. Try mixing and matching your favorite colors and metallics to make it just how you like. :)

* Essie - Lollipop purchased at Target $7.50 and Orly - Glitz purchased at ULTA Beauty Supply $3.50

Beauty Column - Raz Pizazz Nails

It may not always show on my blog, but I really love fashion, beauty tips, make-up, hair styling...you name it! When I was little, I had a dream to run my own hair, make-up, & nail salon. :) One year for Christmas, my dad bought me a desk and I turned it into my own personal nail salon booth, complete with little glass jars of cotton & nail files. Even though my current dreams don't necessarily line up with my 12 year old passions...I still have a love for beauty and taking care of yourself.

I'd like to take more time to share things with you that are a part of my life and that I love! Beauty Column is just one of those facets that I plan to start blogging about more. And to kick it off, I have a snazzy and simple nail DIY for you:

Step One: Paint all of your nails with two coats of a fun pink//peachy color. I used Tart Deco by Essie. Let dry.
Step Two: On a finger or two of your choice paint a couple different layers of sparkles. I used Gems, Gold & Afterhours. You might have to use 5 layers of sparkles all-together to get good coverage especially if they are bigger sparkles.
Step Three: After your nails have dried, use white polish and paint a nice little stripe down the middle. Voila! Raz Pizazz!

* Nail polish purchased at Target: Essie $7.50, Sally Hansen $2.00, Milani $4.50. Afterhours purchased at Urban Outfitters for $5.00
* Deer ring purchased at H&M.

I love experimenting with nail polish. It's hard for me to choose just ONE color. It just never happens. :) I'm planning to share more fun and simple beauty DIYs in the future.
