SNAPSHOTS: SISTER

My sister and I are 6 1/2 years apart in age. When I was packing my bags to go off to college, she was getting ready to start middle school. We were never very close growing up. I was the preteen with overly maternal instincts and she was the youngest, the wild child, and the life of the party. After heading to college and spending more time away from each other, we slowly developed a special friendship, understanding, and love during my vacations and time home. Over the years, our sister souls have kindled a special type of connection that will only continue to grow and become strong. Watching her grow and become a woman is a special privilege. Today, I am thankful for my Kelsie.

  1. you guys are cute. :) today is my little sister's birthday, and this resonates: i'm the oldest, she's a little wild child, we didn't get along super well until the last couple of years. now we're inseperable. <3

  2. This post is beautiful. It says exactly how I feel about my sister too. We are 4 and a half years apart, but the older we get, the closer we are to each other. I really like how my sister and I get along so well at the moment and I'm sure it'll only get better as time passes!

    love, Saar

  3. You both look so wonderful. :)
I have 3 sisters (I'm the youngest one) and I can surely relate the feeling of having someone so close in your life. I'm so lucky to have them. Time passes by, but the connection bonds even tighter.

  4. I love this post. Beings sisters can be hard, but when it's wonderful. It's obvious that you two love each other and are very close. My sister is only 18 months younger than me, but I also have that weird maternal instinct when it comes to looking out for her. Sisters are the best (and sometimes the worst...)!

I totally understand. My sister is 5 years younger and now that we are 22 and 27, we are so much closer. It takes a while to get on the same page.

  13. I see this post as my hopeful future with my sister... she still kind of sees me as the mum, but I hope someday we can be where you and Kelsie are!

  14. i completely feel this post! i am the oldest of 7 children, and it is DIFFICULT to develop close relationships with the younger siblings. i feel that with age (like a fine wine) our friendships will grow stronger :)

this just gave me the cutesy butterflies of happiness :)

  15. Oh what beautiful photos! This is so cute!

I'm the eldest of 6, although, being from a broken home, that consists of a brother, a half-brother, two half-sisters and a stepbrother haha!

I'm very close to my brother (15 months younger than me) and my half-brother (although I never think of him as that, he is purely my brother in my eyes) who is 12 years younger than me.

I love having my brothers in my life!
