LOVING YOUR HOME: WITH KATIE

One of my favorite spaces in my home is my bedroom. We utilize this space as my sewing studio, my husband's music room, and a place to relax and get away when necessary. It's kind of our little sanctuary. The lighting in here is beautiful, so it always puts me in a peaceful mood. My two daughters also like to come up to "mama's room" and watch movies and hang out.  It's a very special space in our home.

LOVING MY HOME: WITH CASEY WIEGAND

Hi! My name is Casey Wiegand and I blog over at CaseyLeigh

My favorite spots in our home are the spots created for my little ones. Their rooms hold so much heart. So many beautiful memories are made in these spaces and so much of my soul is in these corners of our home. Today I am sharing bits and pieces of their spaces. I have three little ones and these spots are created for them. These are beautiful spaces where they can play, imagine, dream, and dwell.

LOVING MY HOME: WITH GINA TOWSON

Living on an island covered with mossy live oaks has its ups and downs. The best part is it is absolutely lovely all year around. The worst part is everything is shaded. On a hot summer day that can even be a plus but when it comes time to taking photos indoors, it is a pain. It took me a while, but I finally found the one window in my house that has the perfect light and it is in my dining room. This space immediately became my favorite. I love this spot because it's peaceful, lovely, and, best of all, it's light. I found myself migrating from my office to work from this bright room and now take almost every photo in front of that window.

To take advantage of this lovely space, I propped my favorite table and chairs right up to the window and use it for work, eating dinner, and like I mentioned earlier, staging photos. Aside from the light, what makes the room is the table. We found this beauty hidden away in my husband's grandparents' shed. It had been there since the 60's and was perfectly aged and ready for our little home. It turns out it was his great-grandmother's table, so we love even more having a piece of furniture with a story. It really is one of my favorite all-time finds. All it needed was a mix of modern chairs and a lovely vintage map to add that pop of color. The perfect space to sit with a cup of tea and spend a day editing photos, reading a book, or writing the blog.

LOVING MY HOME: WITH LAURA MAZUREK

Hello, Maiedae readers!  It's Laura from Roots and Feathers here, sharing a piece of my home with you.  My favorite spot in my home is the 'dining room' area. Although we never use it as a dining room.  My hubby and I are 'sit on the floor and watch our favorite show' kind of eaters. It's kind of funny looking back, when we moved into this house (our first 'real' home) the only thing we didn't have already was a dining room table.  So the one thing that we actually 'bought' for our home, we don't even use!  Sometimes you just can't break old habits. That being said, it has been used for so many things, like my shipping desk, and now a pretty window desk to sit and write at.

My favorite thing about this area of the house is the light. It's the only place that gets perfect bright window lighting. I use the corner with the big archway window to do all of the product photography of my jewelry. My favorite time of day for this area is morning time. When the morning sun comes through, it hits a big crystal hanging in my window that my dad gave me, and shoots rainbows all over the entire house. It's quite magical. Since it is the best place for light in my house, it is also where most of our house plants are; yet another reason it's my favorite spot!

I also use this area to do my yoga in... and when the mood strikes, hoop and dance. It's just big enough to enjoy those things in. On most days I get to see the birdies outside from the windows too. I feed them up on the porch, so many times I'll look out the window to see a cardinal or big scrub jay right on my porch! And from time to time a squirrel stealing their food, which is just as wonderful to witness.

Besides my studio and office, this is probably where I spend the majority of my time. My back porch is also attached to this room, and you will find me there often! My cat Bella has decided her new favorite place to sleep all day is the yellow rug in front of the bay window. Her spots tend to rotate, but lately that has been her sweet spot!
