WELCOME TO THE NEW MAIEDAE BLOG!

I am SO excited to finally launch the new Maiedae blog design! This design has been in the works for a couple of weeks now and has been on my "to-do" list for months! I feel like it's a great direction for the space and that it really reflects the fresh clean look I love, with beautiful light colors and little bits of extra design elements here and there.

Jenny was a HUGE help in this process and I'm so thankful to have her here to help with design suggestions, coding some of the major elements (she is becoming quite the coding queen), and spending hours to help me get it ready for launch time!

You might notice some new things and some familiar things on this space. Here's a little breakdown of what's new and tips on getting around the blog.

* The post series section is a familiar area, I've added in a new and upcoming series, as well. You can be on the lookout for a couple additional series popping up throughout the next 2 months. ;)

* One of the biggest changes for this new design is how I feature sponsors! My sponsor program now has two size options. You can either purchase a regular size ad space or a large solo feature ad space that lives beneath the post series section. The regular ad space is only open for 10 spots at a time and the solo feature space is open to one spot each month. You can find out more about my new sponsor program on my advertisement page here.

* Also on the left side of my blog you will find a series of links that takes you to other Maiedae goodness around the internet. You can easily visit our main website, check out the Maiedae Mixer, see our graphic design services AND go to Jenny's blog!

* The archive and popular posts pages are still under construction but will be live soon! Here you will be able to navigate through all of my old posts on the archive page and see a curation of some of the best posts on the popular posts page. Check back soon to see those pages up and running!

I've still got a few more tweaks to make here and there. Please let me know if you see any major issues as you're looking around! Thanks so much for being such amazing readers and loving on Maiedae as much as you do. I hope all of you have a fantastical weekend!

NOW OFFERING CUSTOM WORDPRESS BLOG DESIGN!

Jenny and I are so excited to announce that we are officially offering Wordpress blog design services!! We've been designing on the Blogger platform for almost two years and have wanted to expand our offerings for a while now, but wanted to wait until we were in a good place and had a great developer to make it happen.

We will be offering "boutique" design services for Wordpress blogs. Your new look will be completely customized and developed professionally by a Wordpress specialist. We are so excited to begin working with clients on this new platform and really create beautifully unique designs just for you! On top of offering a custom design and professional development we will also be offering full blog transfer services if you are wanting to move your home to the Wordpress platform as well as hosting services which will allow us to make annual maintenance and have easy access to work with you for any tweaks and changes you might need over time.

The design process is easy and fun! We begin by providing you with a thorough PDF that outlines our Wordpress package options, pricing, and next steps. Once you decide to move forward, we'll send along homework questions that will help us understand your sense of style and desired brand for your new space. After your homework questions are complete, you will be assigned a designer that will work closely with you to create something you LOVE. Your designer will either be myself or my amazingly talented business partner, Jenny. To check out some of our previous design work, please take a look at our design portfolio.

Once a designer begins working with you we will create a "mock-blog" that will allow us to work through the revision process. Once we get to a design you are 100% happy with, we will finalize and send everything off to our developer who will make it come to life! Upon completion of your project, we provide you with a file of your blog assets (banner image, shareable widgets etc.), a "Tips & Tricks" PDF that outlines custom tips on using your new space and blog support! Blog support is there to offer you free tweaks and small changes on your design once it's installed. If you need to change a color or add in a new welcome photo, no problem! We also archive all of your design assets so if you ever need a redesign or any major changes made, we are happy to assist!

WE LOVE TO DESIGN

Aside from blogging, Jenny and I are hugely passionate about graphic design! Maiedae is growing everyday into a thriving graphic design business and when we aren't taking pictures, blogging, or working at our day jobs, we are busy bees creating custom designs for our clients. This season has been busier than ever and we are so excited about how much our design business has grown. In early 2012, we launched www.Maiedae.com that shares information about our services and packages. We've recently updated our portfolio with some of our new work and will be continuing to make updates as we complete projects for our clients.

We currently specialize in blog design for the Blogger platform, logo design, and business branding pieces. We mostly do design for the web, but recently have been working with clients who have print design needs. That said, we love taking on new challenges AND working within our specialties. This year we have a lot of exciting things lined up for our graphic design business, including expanding our blog design platforms to Wordpress and Typepad design!! We will be making the official announcement soon, so be sure to check in!

BLOG DESIGN: REVELREY

I recently finished a blog design for a dear friend. Kate has such a fiery spirit. She is driven, excited about life, and a loyal friend. One of the things I love about Kate is the fact that she's professional and classy, yet full of spunk. Kate's new blog, Revelrey, is all about her adventures in traveling, cooking, and being a young professional.

While designing her blog, I wanted to combine a classy, clean look with pops of color to match Kate's personality. We used her favorite colors and combined some hand-drawn plant elements to make it feel more organic.

BLOG DESIGN: MARIGOLD MADE

I'm so excited to share another blog design I recently finished! Lo contacted me a little while back about giving her blog a facelift. She was looking to go with a new name and look from what she currently had, so we started the process with brainstorming new name ideas and came up with Marigold Made. Has a nice ring to it, don'tcha think?

One of my favorite things about designing blogs for clients is receiving their homework questions and pouring through their ideas. I love how unique each client is and their sense of style is so inspiring. I loved working on Lo's blog facelift and I'm super happy with how everything came together. Mountains and a beautiful color palate are sure to make for an inspiring blogging space. ;)

BLOG DESIGN: ISAVIRTUE

Happy Saturday!! This morning, I filed our taxes...dun dunnn. I still need to do a double-check through and file taxes for Maiedae, but I'm almost done! So close! Jenny and I have been super busy behind the scenes creating blog designs, logos. and pretty things for some amazing clients. I love being able to feature some of our projects on the blog and wanted to share one I did recently for the lovely Kaitlyn of isavirtue. Kaitlyn is a huge fan of snail mail, stationery, pinks, greys. and hummingbirds. She's also very artistic and wanted to portray that in her design.

Her final look turn out quite lovely. We went with a beautiful watercolor look in her favorite tones of pink and added a few touches of hummingbirds here and there. I even made her twitter icon a hummingbird...aw, so cute! ;)

 

Kaitlyn wanted her new look to be present in all of her social networking pages so I created matching designs for her Etsy shop and Twitter page.

BLOG DESIGN: THE LOVELY HUNTER

I'm excited to share another blog design with you today! This was another one of my favorite designs to work on. Sofia, from The Lovely Hunter, contacted me about re-designing her blog a couple months back. She has great taste and really had a lot of ideas about what types of elements she would like in her design and how she wanted the look and feel of her blog to be. The first preview I designed for her was very busy and contained almost all of the design elements she mentioned in her homework questions. After seeing it altogether, we decided to go with a more clean and simple look, utilizing her favorite design pieces in subtle ways.

I am in love with her final look! I love the prominence of the black and white colors and the little pops of navy, peach, and teal. I love the heavy bars against the stark white background. And my favorite part...the banner, ties everything together beautifully.

BLOG DESIGN: THE WONDER LIST

I have been itching to show you this blog design! I met Emily at work and we both discovered we had a mutual love for blogging, beautiful things, and hard work. We soon became fast friends. Last year, we started the process of re-designed her current blog and after a little break from the design and some deep-thinking about the future of what it would become, Emily decided to join forces with her best friend Allie, to form The Wonder List.

These girls have impeccable style and a unique voice that really shines through in their posts. I was so inspired by the colors, patterns, and textures they loved, that this quickly became one of my favorite blog designs to work on.

The Wonder List, in their words, is "an unabashed guide to discovering genuine adventure and pursuing reflections of the inner self." This is definitely a blog to watch and I'm so looking forward to following along with Emily and Allie's journey. MaieDae Graphics: Scuttle

A good friend of mine, Holly of Scuttle, asked me to work on re-branding her business. Holly is very adorable and wanted to keep her stationary and journal business cutesy and fun. :) She's also a huge fan of cupcakes!

I first started with designing her new logo, then did a business card design for her so she can pass out these little cuties at her upcoming craft fair. I'll be wrapping up her design package with a new blog look to go with the new branding we've established. Keep an eye out for that, coming soon!
